Held annually on the middle weekend of the September school holidays, the Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival is the highlight of the Cooloola region calendar. The festival was established in2001 and has boomed ever since. The community is proud of its seafood industry and choose to promote their region through this abundant fresh resource. The Seafood Festival combines a local fisherman’s seafood market with kids activities, entertainment, fireworks, market stalls, street parade, cooking demonstrations, displays and fun competitions such as a waiters’ race, prawn eating and mullet throwing.

Immerse yourself in art when 60 of the world’s leading artists showcase outdoor sculpture along the picturesque Currumbin Beach Ocean Walkway. This unique festival celebrates new and innovative forms of public art, with all mediums including steel, glass, stone, timber and bronze on display. There’s plenty to do after you’ve taken in all the magnificent artworks, including twilight sculpture tours, meet the artist talks, children’s interactive sculpture, gourmet barbecues and live music.

One of the guest speakers will be Cyndi O’Meara, author of “Changing Habits, Changing Lives”. This is a great way to acknowledge the work of Zonta who work towards the betterment of women, locally, nationally and internationally.

This is one of Australia’s largest family fishing competitions. The event brings fishing enthusiasts to town for the weekend while providing entertainment and activities for the whole family.
