FROM THE MAYOR

Bundaberg, the leading regional city, is strategically situated at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef in sunny Queensland. It is renowned for the friendliness of residents, superb climate, affordable cost of living, first-class facilities, and great lifestyle.
An easy drive from Brisbane, Bundaberg's coastal region provides unsurpassed fishing, diving and boating activities - these taking place against the backdrop of a rich sugar and horticultural belt.
Bundaberg's entrepreneurial spirit has been reflected in its production of Case Austoft Cane harvesters, Jabiru ultralight aircraft and engines, Seajay boats, Bundaberg Rum, Bundaberg Ginger Beer, QC Bricks and processing of numerous fruits and vegetables, to name a few of the many successful enterprises.
Abundant potential exists for a new wave of investment opportunities given that additional water is now available in the district following the construction of Paradise Dam, and through the earlier establishment of an Industrial Park, where value-adding to our horticultural produce and associated industries can be located.
Tourists, who’ve always enjoyed our local attractions, have recently added two additional visits to their extensive itineraries - Japanese Gardens in the Botanic Gardens, North Bundaberg and Riverside Parklands in Quay Street. The Riverside Parklands project which cost 3.4 million dollars is the beginning of a 1.5 kilometre long, riverside redevelopment, which will soon include a Turtle Interpretive Centre, a unique centre designed to compliment the turtle experience offered at Mon Repos.
Further to this, a Hinkler Hall of Aviation to be located in the Botanic Gardens next to Hinkler House is planned for construction next year. Together, Hinkler House and the Hall of Aviation will tell Hinkler’s amazing story of achievements through interactive displays, memorabilia and aircraft.
Bundaberg welcomes you as a tourist or potential investor, and I invite you to come and experience the vast opportunities our city offers.
